Kyoko Asaka
Ms. Kyoko Asaka graduated from the Osaka College of Music, in the Undergraduate Program, Music Course Piano Major. After that, she completed Graduate School of Music, Instrumental Music Major, Piano Research Room in the same college. In 2004, she moved to Germany. In 2006, she graduated from University of Music Franz Liszt Weimar, Germany. In 2008, she completed masterclass in piano accompaniment at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Munich. In 2013, she was appointed as a senior assistant professor and in 2017 promoted as an associated professor and in 2024 promoted as a professor for the Music Course (piano) of the Faculty of Education at the Ehime University in Japan. Besides research and educational activities at the university, she works on a piano performance positively both in Japan and Germany every year.
She studied piano performance under the guidance of Prof. Shinya Okahara, Prof. Klaus Schilde and Prof. Arne Torgar, and also piano accompaniment method of the German songs under Prof. Helmut Deutsch. She is now each member of the Pianistenclub München, the Japanisch-Deutsche Liedergesellschaft, the Japan Music Expression Society, the Japan Music Education Society, and the Japan Piano Teachers Association.
Kyoko Asaka was awarded second prize at the seventh International Vienna Piano Competition (Wiener Pianisten –Wettbeweb), and first medal at the 14th Brest Piano Contest (France). In 2008, she performed Mozart’s Piano Concerto No.20 with the the Slovakia’s Bratislava Philharmonic Orchestra (Conductor: Rastislav Štúr) at the Konzerthaus, Vienna. In 2010, she performed the Piano Concerto No.1 of Chopin in Munich, Cuvillies-Theater with the Georgisches Kammerorchester Ingolstadt (Conductor: Rodolfo Fischer) and won a high reputation. She released a debut CD in 2010 and a second CD with a violin and a piano in 2015 respectively from Germany. Both CDs were recorded in Munich and released.
Kyoko Asaka performed with the Czech String Quartet “Martinu” in Osaka in 2002, also performed Grieg’s Piano Concerto in A minor with the College Opera House Orchestra(Conductor: Kazufumi Yamashita)in 2003. She performed at the joint concert held in Izmir, Turkey in summer of 2005. She was invited to the Czech Republic with a violinist in the autumn of the same year and appeared for the concert. In June 2006, she appeared in a joint recital in Bayreuth of Germany. In August of the same year, she appeared for the chamber concert held in Poland. In March 2007, she was invited to Czech and joined a concert tour with a singer in 9 cities. In spring 2009, she performed a solo recital both in Vienna and Munich. In June 2010, she played with the Mozart Chamber Orchestra (Conductor: Ryoichi Kado) in Osaka Izumi Hall. In 2011 and 2012, she held a recital both in Tokyo and Osaka. In 2012, she was invited to Czech again and performed a solo recital in 9 major cities including Prague, followed by a solo recital in Munich in 2013. Up today of 2020, she has been active for piano performance in European countries such as in Germany, Austria, France, Italy, Czech, Poland and Turkey, as well as in Japan.
